Ocean’s Eleven

Plot

Danny Ocean is released from prison and already has a plan for a great robbery. He wants to rob three casinos at once and hopes to get away with many millions of dollars. The casinos are owned by Terry Benedict and Danny really hates him. Benedict has been seeing Danny´s ex-wife while he was in prison which makes Danny hate Benedict even more.

Danny hires professional thieves, con artists, bomb makers and all kinds of people to form his crew for the robbery.

They choose to rob the casinos on the day of a huge boxing match. They spend a lot of time preparing for the robbery and planning every little detail.

Characters

Danny Ocean

Danny is a con man and he has committed many crimes all across the country and been to prison a few times. He has dark hair with some parts of grey. He is always well dressed. He is smart and always keeps calm in any situation. He is a good con man and can pretend to be anyone and can fake pretty much anything. He is always a couple of steps before everyone else and he is the one behind the elaborate plan to rob the casinos. He loves his ex-wife and wishes she would take him back.

Rusty

Rusty is Danny´s right-hand man. He is blond and a bit younger than Danny. His biggest contribution to the gang is his skill as a fraud and he is in a lot of disguises throughout the movie. He can pretend to be any kind of profession and gets a hold of lots of important information by pretending to be different people.

Rusty is ALWAYS eating, mainly junk food or candy. He is constantly chewing.

The Crime

The biggest crime in the movie is, obviously, the robbery. They rob three casinos and hope to earn several millions. But along the way, while planning the robbery, they commit a number of other crimes. They commit fraud by pretending to be people they are not to get information they are not supposed to have, they steal parts to make a bomb, they blow things up just to mention a few of their crimes. But all the 11 criminals are nice, polite and they never use violence. They are never even rude to anyone.

My opinion

I liked the movie because it´s funny and they make smart jokes; you have to know a lot about a lot of things to understand what is funny about what they say. It is also kind of unpredictable and you never really know what´s going to happen or how it will all end. It´s not a typical crime movie because the criminals are calm, clever and polite and the guy getting robbed is rude and unlikeable.
